scanning

Print Repro scans in colour and B&W up to A0+ size with a maximum length of 16 meters. Send us your originals and we will scan and send them back to you digitally on a CD or via email. Originals can also be collected and returned by Print Repro depending on quantities.

sizes

A0 841 x 1190mm (A0+ 914mm up to 16m length) image07
A1 594 x 841
A2 420 x 594
A3 297 x 420
A4 210 x 297

Please note: Large Format Colour scans produce large file sizes and you will need sufficient RAM on your computer to view them.
Disclaimer: While we take maximum care of your artworks and originals we do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to them.

formats

Drawings saved in TIFF, PDF or JPEG format.

TIFF Tag Image File Format (.TIF files) TIFF is the most widely supported and universal format across platforms, therefore can be viewed on any computer. TIFF writes a larger file but uses lossless compression, meaning there are no losses when saving, maintaining sharp edges and continuous tone gradients.

PDF Portable Document Format (.pdf files) PDF files are also universal and preserve all fonts and graphics. Other file types may be used on request.

cleaning & digital enhancement

If needed, your drawings can be digitally cleaned. If they are old, dirty, torn etc they can be brought back to life. Print Repro can also enhance an image by adding or erasing text, removing or introducing new lines, or highlighting areas etc.

vectorising

After your drawings have been scanned or if you have raster files that need converting, Print Repro can vectorize them for you allowing you to view and edit in a CAD application

raster images

When an image is scanned the information collected is in raster format; TIFF. This means that they are a series of dots or pixels on the screen and can be viewed on any computer without the need for specialist software.

vector images

To use a scanned image in a CAD application for editing the raster file must be converted into vector format using specialist software.

We would like to stress that the quality of the original will produce the same standard of vector file. Poor quality originals can be cleaned and improved but they do not always produce good results. In these cases Print Repro would suggest that the file is used as a base layer and then drawn over with new lines. Once completed this R2V (Raster to Vector) layer can be removed.
